Coverage Area

This is one of the first things you should consider when buying an air purifier. You want to ensure that the unit is large enough to clear your room, apartment, or home. At the same time, you don’t want to get something too large because that’s a waste of money because it’s attempting to clean a larger area than you have.

While it’s hard to say which is best because that depends on how large your space is, we can easily show you the coverage areas.

The Medify MA-40 coverage is 840 square feet, which is very good. This can easily clean medium and larger rooms, and many people use it for their whole apartment, basement, and other large areas.

The Medify MA-25 coverage area is 500 square feet, which is also good considering its price and form factor. This air purifier is meant more for small to medium rooms. Medify states that it’s ideal for baby rooms, bedrooms, and other places where you want to breathe a little easier.

Many people use these in tandem. The MA40 purifier can cover the main area while the MA25 can clean smaller rooms here and there.

In general, MA-40 is the bigger and better model, but please consider your area before picking one of these purifiers.

Medify MA-40 vs MA-25: CADR

This stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate and it’s a rating that you can use to see how efficient the purifier is. A model can claim to clean a large area, but a low CADR rating means that it’s letting a lot of particles escape. There is a formula you can use to see what a good CADR is, but in general it should be at least 200.

So, how do you know what a good CADR is? Much like coverage area, it depends on how large the room is. The CADR should be at least two-thirds of the area, but higher is always better. So if your room has an area of 150, then the CADR should be 100 or more.

With that in mind, let’s cover the CADR ratings of these filters to see which is better.

The Medify MA-40 CADR rating is 380, which is quite good for its size and coverage area. The Medify MA-25 CADR rating is 230. It’s lower, but that makes sense because the purifier itself is smaller, so it wouldn’t need as high a CADR rating.

Just like with the coverage area section, MA-40 wins, but it’s a conditional victory. It all depends on how large your area is. No matter which one you choose, you’ll be a winner with either of them.

Medify MA-25 vs MA-40: Filter

Some cheap air purifiers have poor filters that barely capture any particles, and you can’t have that. That would mean that the purifier is sucking in air, but not really cleaning it. You want to check the filter to ensure it’s a good fit and that it can really clean the air.

Don’t worry about that here, cause Medify filters are among the best. They surpass true HEPA filters by capturing particles as small as 0.1 microns. HEPA filters are great, but they can only capture particles as small as 0.3 microns. Those with allergies or breathing issues will love the extra clean air.

Both the Medify MA-40 filter and Medify MA-25 filter are the H13 HEPA filters. These filters stop 99.9% of particles like dust, bacteria, viruses, mold, and much more. They have three layers, and both models use two filters. This ensures you have lots of protection against allergens and anything else contaminating the air.

Not only that, but there is a filter replacement indicator to let you know when the filter must be changed. Changing the filter is very easy, so it should only take a few minutes to complete.

Fan Speeds

It’s a tie here because both Medify models offer three different fan speeds, which is very useful if you like changing the speed based on your needs. While some might like a simple on/off switch, most prefer having different speeds to ensure the purifier is only running as fast as needed.

If you only need to clean the room a bit, then it’s best to put it on a slow speed. If someone is smoking outside or you are cleaning and dust is flying around, then a faster speed is better.

Not only do you get three speeds with both, but each offers a glass touchscreen where you can set the speed. The touchscreen is very modern and beautiful, adding to the aesthetic of the filter.

While it’s a tie here, once again you’re winning with whichever model you choose.

Special Features

Medify air purifiers come with a fair number of special features. These are some of the best purifiers on the market, and you get some great features on top of the large coverage areas and high CADR ratings.

Much like with the filters and fan speeds, the extra features are exactly the same between these two models.

Both have filter replacement indicators so you know exactly when to change the filter, a glass touchscreen, a timer between 0-8 hours, and a child lock to keep babies and children from opening the purifier.

These features are very good, especially when you consider the price of these models.

What is the Difference Between Medify MA-40 and MA-25?

Curious about what is the difference between Medify MA-25 and MA-40? As you may have noticed, there weren’t that many differences between these models, but the differences we found were exactly what you need to check to find the best model for your needs.

They have the exact same filters, fan speeds, and extra features. The only differences we found during our Medify MA-40 review and Medify MA-25 review are the coverage area and CADR rating. MA-40 excelled in both areas. However, while MA-25 had lower coverage and CADR, it’s a smaller purifier and that makes sense.

In general, they are both amazing models, so it depends on how large an area you’re looking to clean.
